Laser hair removal is one of the most popular ways to get rid of unwanted hair. The popularity of the cosmetology procedure is explained by its safety, painlessness, and long-lasting effect.

Most people who are not yet familiar with this technique and its effectiveness are often interested in how long the result lasts after laser hair removal. We will try to solve this issue.

HOW DOES HAIR REMOVAL WITH THE HELP OF LASER TAKE PLACE

The principle of operation of the laser is simple. The energy of the laser beam emitted by the device (the 4U Body&Skin uses a diode laser with a wavelength of 808 nm) is actively absorbed by two types of “targets”:

  • color pigment melanin – contained in the shaft and bulb of the hair;
  • hemoglobin – located in the blood vessel, nourishes the follicle.

The hair bulb melts under the influence of high temperatures, and its feeding vessels are sealed. It begins to gradually die off, after a few weeks the hair with the “dead” root falls off and no longer grows. Skin coverings that do not contain pigment are not damaged by the laser. To avoid the risk of burning the epidermis, it is not recommended to perform the procedure on tanned skin.

When studying the question of laser hair removal and how long it is enough, consider that the less color pigment in the hair, the less susceptible it is to the action of the laser. We work only with dark hair (black, brown). If blond, red, gray hair predominates in the areas to be treated, we cannot guarantee a 100% quality result.

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE NECESSARY FOR COMPLETE ELIMINATION OF HAIR

The laser pulse affects hair follicles in the stage of active growth. A large part (more than 80%) is in a dormant state, so after the first session of laser hair removal, it will not be possible to find out how long it will last. After a few weeks, only 7-20% of hair will disappear from the treated area.

After 2-3 times, due to the effect of high temperatures, the number of hairs on the treated area may even increase, which indicates the awakening of the first sleeping bulbs. But already in 8-10 procedures (with an interval of about a month – the schedule is made by a specialist), it is possible to destroy the maximum number of follicles in stock.

Note that the face area is more difficult to process. Vegetation from here is more difficult, since it is here that its growth directly depends on the hormonal background. For an ideal result, you may need more sessions – about 10-15.

LASER EPILATION: HOW LONG DOES ONE PROCEDURE TAKE

The duration of the session depends on the size of the treated area and the required number of flashes. We work at high capacities, so the procedure for processing each zone is minimal in duration:

  • legs – 50 minutes;
  • hands, back – half an hour each;
  • full face, bikini, armpits – a third of an hour for each area;
  • legs, stomach – 35 and 15 minutes, respectively.

Specialists of the 4U Body&Skin  salon individually set the mode of operation of the device for the client, taking into account the phototype of the skin, individual characteristics.

HOW LONG DOES THE EFFECT OF LASER EPILATION LASTS?

After a full course, the result in the form of smooth, silky skin that does not require additional treatment with a razor or an epilator is preserved for a long time – 5-10 years (depending on the hormonal background of the person). No other modern method of hair removal gives such a result.

In laser hair removal, the time of action is not unlimited. Hair follicles have the ability to regenerate, which is especially facilitated by fluctuations in the hormonal background. After the end of the course, it is recommended to carry out preventive procedures: for the body at least 1-2 times a year, for the face – once every 3-4 months.
